Nathaniel C. Shannon is a seasoned editorial and illustrative photographer specializing in photographing moving subjects. Born in Ypsilanti MI. Nathaniel cut his teeth photographing various music subcultures around Detroit, MI. 2008 moved him to New York to finish his BFA at the School of Visual Arts. He has produced several solo shows, “While the others were sleeping” live music photography, “Immortal Until Death”, a collection of cemetery landscapes and portraits, and “The Detroit Community Golf Course”, a visual narrative addressing the faux gentrification of Detroit. Nathaniel is the co-creator of the“Still Screaming Show”, along side photographers Mark Beamer and Michael Dubin showcasing an archive of their live music photography.
Nathaniel has worked closely with Alternative Press, The BBC, Decibel, IFC, Jim Breuer, Metal Blade Records, MSN Network, MTV, NBC network, News Daily, New York Magazine, New York Post, New York Press, Revolver, Rocksound, Rolling Stone, Shiner Bock Beer, USA today, Vice, the Village Voice, Warner Brothers.
